Do you care for someone and/or do you need advice?
If you are caring for someone living in the community and you wish to continue to do this, you may need some information and advice to help you to continue to care.
Thurrock Carers Centre provides a welcoming and friendly environment to help all carers find advice either in person or by telephone.
Contact us by telephone or visit us to find out more about the services we provide and how we can help you. You can also ask someone to contact us on your behalf. This may be a:
- relative
- friend
- social worker
- G.P.
- district nurse
- home carer
Thurrock Carers Centre provides practical and emotional support, advice and information to informal carers. These include:
- helping carers identify and recognise their own contribution, skills and expertise in their caring role
- making sure carers are provided with choices on whether to care, whether to continue to care, how much care they are able to provide
- making sure carers are consulted
- making sure carers' services reflect an awareness of people's diversity and equal access to all
Services offered at the centre:
- Information and advice
- Training and information sessions for carers
- A carers club in conjunction with Carers UK
- A carers support group
- Counselling
- Advocacy
- A support group for carers of people with mental health problems
- A support group for carers of people who misuse substances
- A short break service for Carers including:
- Extended day care, and
- outreach
