National Autistic Society Thurrock (NAS)
NAS Thurrock Branch launched in September 2015 and is run on a voluntary basis by parents, carers of children who have autism spectrum conditions. We hold monthly support groups for parents and carers.
We also provide a number of activities for both families and children with autism, see our activities lists
The Branch volunteers raise awareness of autism, support and encourage the development of autism services in Thurrock.
Income to provide social activities and resources are raised by local parents, private donations and by applying for funding.
We rely on volunteers to run the branch and welcome applications from people in the local area who would like to help out with our activities; raising awareness or running support group sessions (e.g. in local schools). We also organise workshops, speakers, and other activities to make information, advice and support more accessible for all.
Anyone wishing to offer their time to help in anyway would be very welcome.
