Social Care - Children's Services

We aim to work together with families who need help and support to promote the welfare and safety of their children. To do this we work closely with other services such as Health, Education, Housing, Police, Probation, as well as Voluntary organisations.

We try to find out what help is needed, and give support by providing services to:

•Children and families in need - this is a broad definition and can include a wide section of the population
•Children who may need looking after (coming into care) by Thurrock Council
•Children at risk of suffering 'significant harm'
•Children who have suffered abuse and who need protection
•Children seeking asylum without their parents
•Disabled children and their families
•Young People
