AccessAble
Thurrock Council is delighted to be working in conjunction with DisabledGo to give parents and carers accurate information about the suitability of all schools and local establishments for disabled children and young people.
We are totally committed to providing inclusive education and ensuring that all children and young people have what they need to access learning.
This includes changes to school buildings and any necessary resources which help to overcome barriers.
Thurrock has 39 Primary Schools Academies, 12 Secondary School Academies/ Free Schools, 1 Voluntary Aided secondary school and 3 Special School Academies.
All mainstream schools are able to meet a range of special educational needs and in addition some have a resource base for pupils with specific needs.
Access to these bases are through the Local Authority.
Our three Special Schools are designed to meet the needs of children and young people with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and those autistic children or children with moderate learning difficulties.
