Reach Out for Mental Health
Open Monday to Friday 9am until 7pm
What is Reach Out for Mental Health?
A suicide prevention service that offers an opportunity for people to just talk about what they are going through. This could be due to recent events or things from the past.
We know talking can be difficult at times. We also know that talking really can help.
Our volunteers won’t judge you or try to fix you. We offer an opportunity to talk in confidence, with a friendly, trained local person.
We won’t pressure you to talk, and you don’t have to pretend that everything is ‘fine’ if it’s not.
You can talk about anything that is bothering you and how it is affecting your life, especially if you have thoughts of hurting yourself.
If you’re feeling like you don’t want to die but just want the pain to stop, then you’ve made a great first step.
We have spoken to so many people who have said they don’t necessarily want to die but they don’t know how to live any more.
This is a very common feeling and can be a huge comfort to know that you’re not alone.
Our volunteers appreciate how feeling suicidal can be a lonely and exhausting place.
It may be difficult to talk to those closest to you or even admit to yourself how you’re feeling. Maybe you’re not sure why you’ve suddenly hit a wall.
Whatever the reason we provide an opportunity for you to talk in confidence to a trained volunteer about your situation and how you’re feeling, maybe for the first time.
You don’t have to be feeling suicidal to speak to us.
