Helpline opening hours:T

he Helpline service is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year including Bank holidays and Eid. Our current opening hours are::

  • Monday to Friday 6pm-12am
  • Saturday and Sunday 12pm-12am

The Helpline operates on several key principles:

1. Free: our services are completely free of charge and clients can contact us through the telephone, online chat, email and by letter. Most mobile providers do not charge to call our number but if in doubt, check with your mobile service provider.

2. Confidential: Your call is 100% confidential and we do not disclose any information given to us except in extreme circumstances. You can read our confidentiality guide on our website

3. Anonymity: Our number does not appear on your phone bill and we cannot trace your number. Calls are recorded for training and quality purposes but cannot be traced.

4. Non-judgmental: We don’t judge you
whatever you call us about. You can call us without fear of judgment or chastisement. We will only listen, and provide empathy and support. Every young person has the right to have a safe space in which their voice is heard.

5. Non-directional: We do not tell you what to do, preach or impose any religious beliefs upon you.

6. Empowerment:  We do not tell you what to do rather we explore options with you and empower you to make your own decision. We believe that people have the right to find their own solution and should be supported to do so. Being able to explore your feelings alleviates distress and helps you to reach a better understanding of your situation and the options open to you.

7. Faith and culturally sensitive: Our helpline workers are all drawn from the diverse Muslim communities in the UK. They therefore understand the issues facing Muslim communities and are also trained in faith and cultural sensitivity.
