Family Hubs and Parent & Toddler Groups

Family Hubs

Family Hubs are open to all parents, carers and children, and many of the services are free. These Hubs offer access to help and advice on child and family health, parenting, money, training and employment.

The core purpose of Sure Start Family Hubs is to improve outcomes for young children and their families, with a particular focus on those in greatest need. They work to make sure all children are properly prepared for school, regardless of background or family circumstances. They also offer support to parents.

Parent & Toddler Groups

Parent & Toddler/Baby groups offer a place where you can meet other mums, dads, grandparents or other carers with children your child's age. These are a great place for you and your child to make new friends too.

Groups are usually run by volunteers and provide a great opportunity for your child to learn social skills, communication skills and learn through play. Whilst often called 'toddler groups', most groups welcome new mums and babies too, with dedicated areas with soft mats and baby bouncer chairs.

Refreshments are usually provided with a small entrance fee. Some groups offer day trips to attractions throughout the holidays. Some groups may be structured to offer anything from singing sessions to potty training sessions. Feel free to visit one and find out more.
