Opening times: 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Children's dietetic service
Our specialist paediatric dietetic team provides a seamless service across the community, seeing children and their families with a wide range of special dietary needs. Our paediatric dietitians use the most up-to-date research on food and nutrition in health and disease. This is translated into practical guidance to enable people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices. We advise children and their families on how to manage dietary changes in a practical manner by using motivational interviewing and behaviour change techniques. We advise on the most suitable dietary products to manage clinical conditions (for example gluten free products, alternative milk for cow's milk allergy, nutritional supplements etc). We offer face-to-face consultations, telephone reviews, group education sessions (including fun/interactive sessions engaging children with age appropriate activities), supermarket tours, etc.
We work in various locations throughout South West Essex and Thurrock (except Brentwood) to meet the needs of our children and their families such as clinics in a variety of community locations, patient's homes and special schools.
